Was It A Catch?

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. I am honestly still processing Saturday’s loss. I wasn’t planning on writing a post until much later, when my emotions have calmed down. Well, after hearing today’s news, I felt like I had to write something. I am not going to break down the game like I normally do. Again, the loss is still too fresh. So, here are my big 3 questions after our heartbreaking loss to the Broncos : Was it a catch? In my eyes, yes. I don’t think I will ever be convinced otherwise. Even my 62-year-old Mother knew that was a catch! In her words: catch the ball, knee goes down, end of the play, it's not rocket science. Especially after a very similar play happened for the Rams last night, and was called a catch. If it is not clear, then the call is supposed to favor the offense. I am just not sure where the disconnect is. Is the NFL rigged? Sometimes part of me t...

Buffalo Isn't Done

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. Wow, what a Sunday! Buffalo has officially eliminated Jacksonville from the playoffs. This is something so many sports analysts did not think would happen. However, they must have forgotten that Buffalo has Josh Allen!   Here are some of my thoughts about our Wildcard win against the Jaguars: I obviously have to start off with Josh Allen. He went 28/35 with 273 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and no turnovers. Just as a reminder, this is against a top 5 defense, and a team that was on an 8-game winning streak. He is now the first player in NFL history to complete over 80% of passes and rush for multiple touchdowns in a playoff game. In playoff games since 2020, he is: first in PFF grade (91.3), first in total yards per game (306), and second for total touchdowns (32). Josh Allen is one of the best, if not the best, quarterbacks in ...

Open Your Eager Eyes, It's Playoff Time

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. Somehow it is already January and Buffalo has officially played their last game in Highmark Stadium. Of course, I wish Buffalo was hosting a playoff game. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. But in the final game: Buffalo did win, Allen did take a snap, and Cook got enough yards to maintain the lead. James Cook now officially has the most rushing yards for the 2025 season! I am glad the Bills were able to figure out his contract preseason and come to an agreement.  Here are some of my thoughts as we enter the post-season: The Jaguars have been hot recently, I do think out of the division winners, they are the team to beat. Part of me wishes we had the 5th or even 7th seed instead of the 6th. We know we can beat the Patriots and the Steelers, but we don't always play our best against Jacksonville. In the last 10 meetings, our record i...

Buffalo Comes Up Short. Will There Be Super Bowel Redemption?

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. Mondays are definitely much Monday-er after a Buffalo loss. There is a lot to unpack from yesterday's game. So, I am going to just get right to it.  Here are some of my thoughts about our week 17 loss to the Eagles: It is almost like the Defense read my blog last week and decided to prove me wrong, which I have no problem with! Our defense finally looked Super Bowl worthy- too bad our offense did not. Our defense held the Eagles to 82 rushing yards; and Hurts only had 108 passing yards. The Eagles only had 1 touchdown in the 1st quarter and 2 field goals in the 2nd quarter. In the second half, we held them to 17 yards and did not allow a completed pass by Hurts. The Eagles did not score any more points in the second half. I am not sure we could have asked for more from our defense against the reigning Super Bowl champs. Other than ma...

Bills Barely Best the Browns

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. I hope everyone is getting in the holiday spirit. I am currently in South Carolina visiting my family for the first time since May. So, this post will be short since I am spending most of my time catching up with family and playing with my niece! Here are some of my reactions to barely beating the Browns in 16: I was definitely underwhelmed by Sunday's performance. However, I have had some time to cool down and have read the theories that Buffalo was not playing 100%. The more I think about this, I am starting to wonder if there is some truth to it. It really did look like both our offense and defense was just moving in slow motion at times. For our defense, there were so many missed tackles or (in my mind) weak tackles. There was also just some bad play reading by the defense. They allowed 317 yards total but did limit the Browns to 2 touc...

Buffalo Breaks NE's Winning Streak

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. Wow, what a week! Between my oral boards and two straight second-half comeback wins, I’m pretty sure I’ve earned a few new grey hairs. For anyone curious about how you become a board-certified OBGYN- you complete four years of medical school, four years of residency, pass a written board exam, collect at least a year of clinical cases, then take your oral boards. Once you pass both board exams, you're fully certified. I chose to subspecialize in Maternal–Fetal Medicine (high risk pregnancy), so I’m doing three more years of training and will take two additional board exams to be double board-certified. It’s a long, crazy journey, but I truly love it. You know what else I love? When Josh Allen is Superman. Get ready for a Josh Allen appreciation post. Here are some of my reactions to week 15's comeback win against the Patriots: I said it...

Buffalo {Finally} Beats Burrow

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. We survived a rollercoaster of a game and got to celebrate another victory Monday! And for the first time, Josh Allen beat Joe Burrow!  Here are some of my thoughts about week 14's snowy win against the Bengals: Anything is possible with Josh Allen. He had 3 touchdowns with no interceptions, plus an incredible 40-yard rushing touchdown. To top it off, he sealed the victory by rushing to convert a third and long. Can we talk about our tight ends for a moment? Dawson Knox had 6 receptions for 93 yards, with the longest being a 32-yard gain. Dalton Kincaid returned from a hamstring injury and had 4 receptions and a touchdown. Jackson Hawes even got involved again and had another touchdown. Unfortunately, James Cook had two fumbles in the red zone. This was very disappointing, but luckily we were able to make up for it and still secure a...
