We survived a rollercoaster of a game and got to celebrate another victory Monday! And for the first time, Josh Allen beat Joe Burrow!
Here are some of my thoughts about week 14's snowy win against the Bengals:
- Anything is possible with Josh Allen. He had 3 touchdowns with no interceptions, plus an incredible 40-yard rushing touchdown. To top it off, he sealed the victory by rushing to convert a third and long. Can we talk about our tight ends for a moment? Dawson Knox had 6 receptions for 93 yards, with the longest being a 32-yard gain. Dalton Kincaid returned from a hamstring injury and had 4 receptions and a touchdown. Jackson Hawes even got involved again and had another touchdown. Unfortunately, James Cook had two fumbles in the red zone. This was very disappointing, but luckily we were able to make up for it and still secure a win. I am still loving getting our running backs more involved in passing. I hope we continue to do this so that our offense will be less predictable against New England.
- I wish our defense could play well the whole game. Once again, the defense did not look good the first half and allowed 21 points. However, they made adjustments in the second half. They did not allow any points in the 3rd quarter and 13 points in the 4th. Though, I will say, having 2 fumbles in the red zone by our offense in the first half did nothing to help our defense. They did only allow 62 rushing yards, but Burrow had 284 passing yards. Christian Benford had another interception this week and ran it back 63 yards for a pick 6. AJ Epenesa followed with the second interception of the game on the next drive. Talk about a momentum changer! Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but I do see improvements in our defense. I am hoping they can play well the entire game and pressure Maye. I would love for him to throw multiple interceptions on Sunday!
- As we all know, we play New England again Sunday at Gillette Stadium. I am hoping that we can get some revenge - especially now that our path to the playoffs is looking pretty good. With Daniel Jones out for the rest of the season, I think the Colts will struggle down the stretch and will likely drop out of the playoff picture. Also, the Steelers beating the Ravens helped us as well. I know we wanted Houston to beat Kansas City, but I was still pulling for Houston. I really enjoyed watching Mahomes turn over the ball multiple times.
I know this is another shorter post, but I was in Dallas taking my oral board exam. Now that I am done with that, I will have more free time! I am so ready to be able to enjoy football season like normal and have a social life again. So, my posts will get back to normal next week and will start addressing Women's health topics again.
As always, and in the words of our MVP, be good, do good, God bless, and go Bills!
