Did Buffalo Blow It?

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. So, I am going to keep this post short and to the point because I have family in town and oral board exams are right around the corner. I was at the game Thursday night, and I definitely had to give myself time to cool down before writing this.  So here are some of my thoughts about week 12's disappointing loss to Houston: Joe Brady either needs to go back to college football or figure out how to get back to the offensive coordinator we had last year. His play calling this year has been so frustrating. We basically tried throwing the ball on almost every first down, and Allen kept getting sacked or we would lose yards. Just change it up some and run the ball! Even just a couple yards on first down is better than losing yards. Also, when you have a 4th and 1 and are in field goal range against arguably the best defense in the AFC, you...

We Still Bill-ieve

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. When I was looking at this season's schedule, I knew the Tampa Bay game would be an exciting one. I was anticipating a battle of the MVP frontrunners. However, with our inconsistent offensive performance so far this season, I was worried I was going to be disappointed. Luckily, I was not! It was an exciting shoot-out that left me on the edge of my couch most of the game and ultimately ended in a Buffalo victory!  So here are a few of my thoughts about week 11's shoot-out victory against Tampa Bay: For the first time, I am going to start with the offense. Before the game even started, I was happy to hear that Coleman was inactive. It really seems like he has some growing up to do. After the first drive ended in an interception, I was stressed. However, our offense found a way to recover and get back in a rhythm. Josh Allen ended up ha...

Buffalo Blues

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. After the loss to Miami, I am disheartened and struggling to find any positives to write about. We had a record-breaking win against Kansas City, following it with a record-breaking loss is just unacceptable. Did we go into the game underprepared? Were we overly confident? Did we just want the win less? Or is Buffalo suffering from imposter syndrome? You would think after a big win against Kansas City, Buffalo would have no doubts about their ability to win as a team. But trust me, as a doctor I am very familiar with imposter syndrome. Sometimes after a big win (both football and medically), that is exactly when the thoughts start to creep in. Maybe we were lucky, maybe the other team was just having an off day, etc. What is the cure? Putting all of the doubts aside, being prepared, confident, and most importantly believing in yourself. So, wha...

Buffalo, Destiny is Calling

Disclaimer: I am a full time OBGYN and am in no way, shape, or form, a sport analyst or journalist. These are simply my reactions and thoughts. Luckily, I did not have to work this Sunday and was able to enjoy the game on a normal TV screen instead of my cellphone screen. So many emotions during yesterday's game: from cheering, to yelling at the TV, to pacing around the room after that 4th and 17 play. But I wouldn't expect anything else during a Buffalo/KC match-up. In fact,  I was so hyped up after the game, I had trouble sleeping! But l et me tell you, I am thrilled I get to write another victory Monday post! I feel like words don't do this game justice. Some of the moments were just priceless. So here is my breakdown of week 9's win against Kansas City: I have to start off this week again talking about the defense. Joey Bosa, Cole Bishop, and Maxwell Hairston (just to name a few) showed up and showed out! Joey Bosa had a sack and 2 tackles for loss. After having 4 t...
